Islamic terrorists kill Jews in Mumbai

As you will have seen reported on all media channels, nine Jewish people were among the 195 people known to be dead following the series of co-ordinated attacks carried out by ten Islamic terrorists in Mumbai that began last Wednesday week.  Once the carnage began, a new attack was launched roughly every 15 minutes. One of the first targets was the Chabad Jewish centre, then a tourist restaurant, one luxury hotel, then another, and two attacks on hospitals. Hundreds of people were trapped or taken hostage as the gunmen hurled grenades and fired automatic weapons indiscriminately.  After two days of confusion and admitted blunders by Indian commando forces, nine of the gunmen were found dead, while a tenth jihadist was captured alive. Some 20 police and soldiers were also among the casualties.

The lone captured terrorist is of Pakistani descent and confirmed that the members of the terrorist cell had visited the Chabad centre stating that they were sent to kill Israelis. Six Jewish hostages were confirmed dead after Indian commandos finally battled to victory and took the Jewish Orthodox centre back on Friday. Haim Weingarten, the head of an Israeli emergency response team sent to Mumbai, acknowledged that some of the hostages were probably killed during the raid to retake the centre saying, "I don't think the terrorists killed all the hostages, to put it gently." 

The dead included Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, 29, and his wife Rivka, 28, the directors of the Chabad House, which is operated by the Hassidic Lubavitcher movement. In a final act of love, Rabbi Holtzberg, wrapped the body of his wife in a tallit (prayer shawl), before succumbing to his own wounds during the final hours of the siege. 

 

Mumbai doctors who examined the bodies of the victims of the Muslim terror massacre said the victims were tortured before being slaughtered. "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks," a doctor who performed a post-mortem told the Indian news website Rediff.com.  "It was clear that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.  Another doctor commented, "It was very strange. I have seen so many dead bodies in my life, and was yet traumatized. A bomb blast victim's body might have been torn apart and could be a very disturbing sight. But the bodies of the victims in this attack bore such signs about the kind of violence of urban warfare that I am still unable to put my thoughts to words," he said.  Intelligence officials confirmed the doctors' observations. Ajmal Kamal, the only terrorist who was not killed after he and his gang had managed to murder 195 people and wound hundreds others, told officials that the terrorists "were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis."  Please bring this before the Lord, and uphold in prayer any of the victims’ families. - David Soakell
